Historian, associate professor, author of The Fall of the Soviet Union, 1982-1991.
After three years of working with it, Scrivener is now the software I couldn’t live without. As a historian visiting archives, I constantly use it to take notes from documents. As a writer, Scrivener helps me tremendously to keep my historical narrative crisp and clear. As a cinema specialist, I use it for databases. Needless to say, Microsoft Word appears completely outdated — Scrivener allows me to look and find information very quickly, and to keep everything I need in just one file! The software is so light and it never bogged on my machine, what a relief. As we say in France—"l'essayer, c'est l'adopter" (“to try it is to adopt it").
